Interested in starting a meditative practice? There are some things to think about as you look for resources that work for you. Do you like imagery and imagination or do you prefer being grounded in reality? Are you interested in spiritual practices other than your own or does it make you uncomfortable? Is your mind always on the go?

For instance, your goal may be to meditate for five minutes while mindfully focusing on your breath but that might not be the place to start. I like yoga but tend to find a flow more mindful than a yin practice. It’s getting easier for me to participate in a yin class but the first time I tried, it was excruciating! I tend to have a lot of mental chatter and to just hold a position was really difficult.

It might take some trial and error to find the right fit for you. I have also found that what works for me at certain points in my life might not work at another. Let me know what works for you!
